This listing is for 250 yards of a single sewing thread of lace-weight 40/1 yarn using fibers from the ginger root plant and cotton yarn wound onto a cardboard cone.
The fibers are sourced from (Zingiber officinale) ginger root and less than 5% upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) for stability. The fiber process takes the semi-combed fibers and spins into yarn. During this there is some under-spun areas in the yarn. So far research has not developed a 100% bast fiber similar to this type of yarn, the 5% cotton is needed for spinning and strength of the fibers. The color is natural and is a light golden yellow.
