This listing is for a skein of reclaimed yarn made from banana fibers. The yarn is made from re-claiming the outer bark layer or "pseudo stems" off a banana tree. This outer bark is considered a waste product. The bark is harvested and the fibrious parts collected and spun into yarn using different approaches and methods depending on the artists technique. Each skein is approximately 100 grams of hand-spun yarn. The hand-spun nature of the yarns offers different thicknesses, colors and textures. The lovely silk like sheen of the banana offers a unique yarn for your next project.
